Services

  • I offer support to people who want to plan next steps in their career.   Or perhaps you want more life/work balance or you want to cut back and transition to retirement.  Maybe retirement is an outdated idea as more of us want to grow old with purpose and meaning.

I’ve had lots of changes in my career and moments of sheer terror: walking into a Minster’s office as a senior advisor for the first time, moving from state to federal government and stepping up as a CEO.

More recently I’ve returned from living overseas and re-imagined the next phase of my life with purpose.  I've asked the question: ...Imagine if..what would you do?

Learning from these changes, I offer the following support:

    • Structured conversations on planning your next career move

    • Practical tips and actions to support your next career move

    • When and how to network to expand career options

    • Practical support with writing job applications and preparing for interviews

    • What to do when you are stuck in a role and can’t see what’s next

    • Re-imagining life with purpose as we live longer.

  • I provide individual coaching services to executives, managers and others who are keen to reach their full potential.

I bring warmth, empathy and experience to our coaching sessions.  Drawing on my qualifications in coaching, I structure the sessions to focus on what you want to change and what you will do to achieve that change.

You are in the driver’s seat and I am sitting beside you, building trust, probing and challenging you to step up and step out. Dream big!

Because I’ve worked in all sorts of places I have faced lots of challenges and you may face some of these too:

    • building and motivating teams to be their best

    • building confidence to be a leader

    • speaking truth to power – giving feedback to supervisors

    • managing difficult conversations

    • managing stress and prioritizing

    • managing work and family

    • responding to bullying and harassment

    • managing ethically challenging situations

  • My facilitation skills and experience have been developed over many years in a wide variety of settings.  I’ve facilitated and trained women in the Solomon Islands on financial literacy in small community settings.  And I’ve facilitated major partnership meetings for the International Federation of Red Cross Societies across the Pacific with participants from up to 18 countries attending.

I have also led strategic planning processes for various organisations and led workshops with a training focus.  I always focus on the purpose of the workshop/meeting and the outcomes to be achieved.  My approach is to support and guide participants to ensure the process delivers the results.  I aim to build inclusive and safe environments where all voices are being heard and participants can respectfully challenge each other to resolve issues.

  • I provide tailored coaching in winning that next job.  My services include:

    • support in writing a pithy one page application that will get you an interview

    • support in writing to address specific selection criteria

    • practice job interviews and feedback

    • tips on what to do before you get to interview - what to read, who to talk to, what to prepare

    • tips on how to present yourself at interview and how to answer tricky questions, what to do when you freeze

    • tips on different kinds of interviews - scenario based questions, behavioural questions, presentations

    • negotiating – salary, hours and flexibility, roles and resources

Well written applications lead my clients to shortlisting for interviews , and well prepared interviews lead them to job offers!
